The 2023 scholarship scheme provides third level education scholarships for eligible Leaving Certificate students from less advantaged backgrounds. The scholarship scheme will continue to operate while the All Ireland Scholarships Trust Fund remains in place. This scheme applies to the beneficiaries in the Republic of Ireland for 2023.
The All Ireland Scholarships Trust (The Trust) provides funding for the provision of these scholarships. This scholarship scheme which was originally proposed and funded by JP McManus is administered by the Department of Education (DoE) on behalf of the Trust.
In order to be considered eligible for the All Ireland Scholarship Scheme, a candidate must meet the requirements of the scheme which includes the following:
- Be a first-time candidate for the Leaving Certificate.
- Obtain at least Grade H5 higher grade in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects and which were sat by the candidate as part of the Leaving Certificate written examinations.
- Have participated in and attended the Leaving Certificate cycle at a non fee-charging DoE recognised school.
- Hold a maintenance grant from Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI).
- Not be a holder of another scholarship as outlined in paragraph 7.
- Attendance on an approved full-time third-level courses as set out at Appendix I of the scholarship scheme.
Tugann scéim scoláireachtaí don bhliain 2023 scoláireachtaí tríú leibhéal do mhic léinn Ardteistiméireachta incháilithe ó chúlra socheacnamaíoch is lú buntáiste. Leanfaidh an scéim scoláireachtaí ag feidhmiú agus an Ciste Muiníneachta Scoláireachtaí Uile-Éireann ar fáil. Baineann an scéim seo lena tairbhithe i bPoblacht na hÉireann don bhliain 2023.
Soláthraíonn an Ciste Muiníneachta Scoláireachtaí Uile-Éireann (An Ciste) maoiniú chun na scoláireachtaí seo a chur ar fáil. Bainfidh an Roinn Oideachais (An Roinn) feidhme as an scéim scoláireachtaí seo a moladh agus a maoiniú i dtús ama ó JP McManus.
Chun a bheith incháilithe do Scéim Scoláireachtaí Uile-Éireann 2023, caithfidh iarratasóirí riachtanais na scéime a chomhlíonadh, agus áirítear leo seo a leanas:
- Bheith mar iarrthóir ar an Ardteistiméireacht den chéad uair.
- Baint amach, ar a laghad, grád H5 nó níos airde i gcúig ábhar ón liosta ábhar ceadaithe agus scrúdúcháin a rinneadh mar chuid de scrúduithe scríofa na hArdteistiméireachta.
- Bheith páirteach i dtimthriall na hArdteistiméireachta agus a fhreastail ag scoil neamhtháillí An Roinn Oideachais aitheanta.
- Bheith ag fáil Deontais Cothabhála ó SUSI.
- Ná bheith mar bhall de scoláireacht eile, mar a mhínítear sa mhír 7.
- Freastal ar chúrsaí tríú leibhéal a luaitear i Aguisín I den scéim scoláireachta.
